Kiite Nareyo Nihongo no Keigo Bamen de Manabu Nihongo Komyunikeshon Becoming Used to Japanese Honorifics through Listening Learning Japanese Communication through Situations

This book is a study material for comprehending Japanese honorific language. It was created by analyzing honorific language used in everyday life situations such as public transportation announcements and explanations of store services and payment methods.

The aim of the book is to have the student become aware that various honorifics are used depending on the situation, understand what kind of honorifics are used to convey what, and be able to respond appropriately to what the other person says.

In the introductory section of the book the student learns about the different types of honorific expressions, the speaker's intentions when using honorific expressions (requests, recommendations, offers, etc.), and ways to express consideration for others. There are then six units, and each unit covers specific situations in which honorifics are used.

In the practice sections, the learner will carefully check the overall content of the conversation, the type of honorific language used, and the intention behind its usage. Through practice, this book will help the learner deepen his/her understanding of honorific language and how to express consideration in Japanese.
