This teaching material aims to help those who want to work for a Japanese company to deepen their understanding of general business customs in Japan and to communicate smoothly both inside and outside a company.

Each lesson has a basic theme, such as “Making Requests,” “Reporting Information,” “Offering to Do Something,” etc., and is divided into two sections: “Reading Comprehension” and “Speaking”.

In the “Reading Comprehension” section the learner reads a short piece that explains business customs, and then, through examining a case study, he/she summarizes his/her thoughts on how to respond in a specific situation.

In the “Speaking” section, the learner studies various conversational expressions and how to converse, and through role-plays, he/she extends his/her practical communication skills.

* As supplementary teaching/study materials, the following will be made available for download for free from the publisher’s website: “Vocabulary list (in alphabetical order),” “Expressions List,” and “Class Tips.” Audio of the “Reading Comprehension” and “Speaking” sections will also be available from the website.
